International cooperation
The Faculty of Science and Mathematics has a long tradition of cooperation with numerous universities around the world.
Studying at European higher education institutions in accordance with the reform of the education system with the recommendations from the Bologna Declaration on Higher Education is now much easier and simplified. Therefore, the promotion of the Quality System in higher education, along with cooperation with higher education institutions in the countries of the region and Europe, as well as the development of joint study programs in the field of natural and mathematical sciences, is one of the basic goals of the sustainable development of Bosnia and Herzegovina based on knowledge.
This increases the recognition of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics as a reliable and desirable educational and scientific institution in the country and abroad. Today, the Faculty of Science makes a major contribution to the internationalization process of the University of Sarajevo through international activities that include establishing international relations with partner institutions in the world, encouraging the mobility of students, teachers, and non-teaching staff, and participating in international projects in the field of higher education.
Integration into the unique research area of Europe and the European area of higher education is achieved primarily by establishing the exchange of students and academic staff and by participating in joint international study and research projects by ensuring the competitiveness of study programs.
International cooperation has been especially intensified in the last decade in the framework of the international exchange of students, teachers and non-teaching staff within the framework of the Tempus, CEEPUS and Erasmus projects and various cross-border cooperation programs and funds. International activities at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics are entrusted to the Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Quality Assurance, as well as to the Quality Assurance Committee.
