Project “Identification and geographical interpretation of invasive species in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”

In the period from June 2018 to June 2019, the Faculty Science in Sarajevo implemented the project “Identification and geographical interpretation of invasive species in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”. Apart from the scientific research team from the Department of Biology and Geography at the Faculty of Science, University of Sarajevo, researchers from the Faculty of Forestry, University of Sarajevo, the Faculty of Education, University of Džemal Bijedić from Mostar and the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina were also involved.

The main goal of this project was to develop an inventory and geographical interpretation of invasive species in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (here in after the List of Invasive Species). For the purpose of compiling the List of Invasive Species and forming an accompanying geobase, the project implemented comprehensive research of existing literature (studies, research, etc.), control field research to identify and determine invasive species and adequate analytical and statistical processing of data on invasive species , the state of their population, the number of areas, etc.
